I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 10 years of experience working with clients of all ages from children to adults with a wide range of issues. I specialize in helping clients with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and life transitions. Therapy can be life changing, and the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in its success. My goal is to help you discover your strengths to improve your life and current experiences. I believe it is a privilege to do this work and I would be honored to walk with you in your journey.
I utilize a holistic approach in therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). CBT is based on how our thoughts create our feelings, which lead to our results. EFT is based on Attachment Theory which is focused on emotional accessibility, responsiveness and engagement. I am also an advocate of Family Systems Theory, where the family is viewed as a system. The family environment plays a critical role in mental wellness and the stresses experienced by one individual in a family may impact the whole family. While I am trained as a generalist, I am passionate about women’s health and a faith based approach to healing and wellness.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Marriage and Family Studies from Brigham Young University and a Master of Social Work degree from California State University San Bernardino.
I am a long-time resident of San Diego but am originally from Texas. Hence, I love country music, fishing, and being in nature. I also enjoy baking, as I call it my “culinary therapy.” Most of all, I enjoy my experiences with my family, as it continues to give me the most precious learning of all.
