Conflict Resolution Certification

Conflict Resolution Certification

The Conflict Resolution Graduate Certificate Program at the University of Utah is taking applications for the 2016-2017 school year. If you are interested in obtaining advanced education in conflict resolution, please apply for the upcoming school year.

The graduate certificate is a one year graduate program teaching conflict resolution skills with an emphasis in mediation. Those accepted will meet once per week on a Tuesday or Thursday from 6-9:30 p.m. for the course of the school year. The program fulfills the educational requirement for qualifying for the Utah Court Roster of Mediators. This year, we will also be experimenting with ways for interested students to obtain practical mediating and observing hours as well. Last year, in addition to mediation, we covered such other dispute resolution processes as conflict resolution process design in organizations and schools, negotiation, ombudsing, inter-faith dialoguing, peace circles, civic engagement, facilitation work, arbitration, divorce and family disputes, and building your own mediation practice. The application deadline is June 1st.
