Member Networking and News

“Membership has its benefits.”

As stated in the popular ad campaign from several years ago, membership in AMCAP comes with opportunities to reach beyond our own resources. Here members can let others know about services, events and resources you have to offer.

The Graduate Certificate Program in Conflict Resolution is now accepting applications for the 2019-2020 school year. The application deadline is June 1st, but earlier applications are given higher priority for acceptance.

The graduate certificate is a one year graduate program teaching conflict resolution skills with an emphasis in mediation. Those accepted will meet once per week on a Tuesday or Thursday from 6-9:30 p.m. for the course of the school year. The program fulfills the educational requirement for qualifying for the Utah Court Roster of Mediators. This year, we will also be experimenting with ways for interested students to obtain practical mediating and observing hours as well. In past years, in addition to mediation, we have covered such other dispute resolution processes as conflict resolution process design in organizations and schools, negotiation, ombudsing, inter-faith dialoguing, peace circles, civic engagement, facilitation work, arbitration, divorce and family disputes, and building your own mediation practice.

If you have any questions about the program or the application process, you may email me at or refer to our website found at:

Thank you for your interest.
