People come into therapy looking to relieve their emotional distress or emotional pain they are in. In my experience most emotional distress and pain is traced back to a lack of healthy connection, attachment wounds (rejection, abandonment, betrayal, abuse) and/or trauma. I help clients understand the importance of healthy connection. Together we identify what has been between the client and the clients attempt to connect. I help clients process pain from old wounds so the client can move forward having the chance to live their best life possible.
I offer and use some of the most researched and practiced models of therapy that currently exist in the mental health field such as DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), EMDR ( Eye Movement Desensitization and Rapidization), and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy).
Humans are resilient and our brain will naturally build defenses to protect our emotional wounds. These protective mechanisms usually offer us short term relieve but can create long term psychological issues.
