Sometimes it is easy to feel as if we are failing miserably while everyone else has life pulled together. We spend so much time taking care of everyone around us that we forget to take care of ourselves. With a deep and heartfelt compassion for those I serve, my aim is to help create an environment in which healing and insight can take place. Oftentimes the hardest first step is to reach out for help. Whether you are looking for extra support during a challenging time or wanting a change, I’d love to support you along the way.
Because of shared religion, I have a unique counseling perspective for LDS clients. I understand Mormon culture and know how deeply involved it is in our everyday lives. Having served in many capacities from LDS missionary in New Zealand to president to nursery leader, I understand the complexities of family, relationships and church.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Utah and my graduate degree in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado. Currently, I am pursuing a doctoral degree in Psychology from California Southern University.
I am trained in EMDR therapy and hold certification as a Trauma Informed Counselor. I do a great deal of work with grief and loss, attachment trauma and traumas sustained in early childhood and adolescence.
Please let me know how I can help.
