Marteen Jensen is licensed as a professional counselor with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists and certified with the National Board of Certified Counselors. She earned a Bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern Oklahoma State University.
Marteen has experience in working in outpatient mental health clinics, a residential program for at-risk adolescents, a family sexual abuse treatment program, and is currently in private practice. She has a unique background in treating children and adult women with issues of depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, grief, trauma, divorce issues, ADHD, obsessive compulsive disorder, general mental health issues and is certified in EMDR.
Marteen believes that effective clinical work is grounded in a well established therapeutic relationship and therapy is based on the philosophy that each individual is inherently valuable and unique and possesses potential for growth and fulfillment.
Marteen and her husband have two daughters, one son and eleven grandchildren. She is an accomplished organist and enjoys traveling, music, sewing and spending time with her family.
