My passion lies in working with clients who are experiencing grief and loss, those who have been hurt in important relationships and those who have been drained by emotional abuse. Often, the symptoms look like anxiety, depression, and difficulty in relationships. The decision to begin therapy is a courageous one made when feeling stuck, vulnerable, or in emotional distress. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and supportive space, where your thoughts and feelings can be expressed openly and freely, and a deepening awareness can lead to developing a meaningful and lasting understanding of your unique way of being in the world.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed. I’m EMDR trained and work through three specific lenses: toxic stress, neurobiology, and attachment; the parts of us affected that make trust and connection difficult in relationships. These lenses allow me to consider what has happened to my clients to impact their functioning, not “what’s wrong with them”.
The single most important part of therapy is the relationship you have with your therapist. Because of this, I offer a free 30 minute face-to-face consultation before we begin our work together. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions to determine if this is the right fit for you. Schedule your free consultation today at www.riverbendcolorado.com.
