James Durbin

Jimmy is a dynamic speaker, educator and therapist able to connect, vitalize, empower, and deliver a powerful message to audiences of any size. As a trained and certified group facilitator, he is able to understand the various dynamics to support groups within corporations, non-profits and families. Jimmy is a person in long-term recovery from alcohol, heroin, meth, bulimia, prescription pills and pornography. He attempted suicide on 9/9/09, battled depression, self-hate and has been homeless. Today, he shares his story of redemption, standing as a sentinel for those who struggle with addiction or love someone who does. He shares his experience, strength and hope so that others won’t suffer alone. Jimmy understands the day-to-day challenges that addicts and family members face in early recovery and the importance of providing the keys that unlock the gate to long-term sobriety, emotional & mental healing, and spirituality. Through God’s tender mercies, while applying the Twelve Steps of recovery, and implementing a spiritual program of action into his life, Jimmy has become aware of his pride, ego and developed a manner of living that allows him to live “Wholehearted”. Jimmy graduated in 2018 with a Master’s in Social Work and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor – Intern and a Peer Recovery Support Specialist. He was the past Program Director for Renaissance Ranch Las Vegas Addiction treatment Center and serves as the Director of Government and Community Affairs for Freedom Behavioral Health and Freedom House in Las Vegas.
